Thinking of flowers

THE ART of floral styling lies in understanding how each arrangement can soften and transform a space. I'm sharing my favourite ways to layer sculptural elements through thoughtfully chosen blooms and vessels.

Begin with form - notice below how the dense spheres of green dianthus create bold architectural statements; i like their a fun pop and artistic statement to this interior entrance by Kelly Hoppen in London.

Consider repetition - multiple vessels at this entrance building a visual rhythm. Each green arrangement becomes part of a larger sculptural installation, softening the strict geometry of the space.

Layer textures thoughtfully - volumous white hydrangeas sit low on a stack of books and create a timeless softening, one of my favourite arrangements for a bedroom or coffee table.

Embrace drama - towering alliums and pristine tulips in marbled vessels by Kelly Wearstler demonstrate how sculptural florals can command attention while maintaining elegant restraint. This could be on a dining table instead of a lighting pendant or to an entrance console table.

Etheral sculptures - White orchids bring effortless sophistication to any space that allows height and oozes luxury always. These are happy in many spaces including kitchen islands and entrance hallways.

Finally, consider movement -organic branches are so interesting in breaking up rigid lines and built strcture - more of a contemporary look for modern furnishings and clean interiors.

These arrangements aren't just decorative additions - they're elements that soften, layer, and ultimately transform the spaces they inhabit.

Selecting these last pieces to the interior are of course great for photography, however more importantly help home owners to reinvigorate their spaces regularly to uplift their mood with beauty and nature.
